"Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?”
— Isaiah 43:18–19 MSG
It was sometime in April, and I was headed up to Big Bear with my mom for my sister’s retreat. The kind of quiet, winding drive that leaves room for conversation, reflection… and divine nudges. I looked down at my phone and noticed the time—11:11. I casually mentioned to my mom, “I see 11:11 all the time. It's weird. Like it’s in my face, nonstop. The time, the clock in the car,
receipts—everywhere.”
She paused and said, “Me too. Lately, it’s always 11:11. Or 1:11.”
That was our moment.
I started doing a little digging, because you know me—I wanted to know what it meant. Not the fluffy Instagram universe stuff, but the Biblical meaning. And what I found stopped me. Because it wasn’t just about numbers. It was about transformation.
What 11:11 Symbolizes Biblically:
Transition & Awakening – A divine signal that God is doing something new—preparing your heart for a shift.
Double Portion – The repetition (11:11) symbolizes increase, blessing, and fullness.
Alignment – A reminder that your life is in sync with God’s timing.
A Call to Pay Attention – A spiritual “heads up” that transformation is unfolding.
Since that drive, it’s become a sacred rhythm in my life. Multiple times a day, my mom and I send each other screenshots or simple messages: “11:11. I love you.” That’s it. No explanation needed. Just this sweet, spirit-filled nudge that says, “I see you. I love you. God is doing something here.”
As I’ve gotten older, my mom’s role has only deepened. She’s always been my teacher and my guide—but now she’s also my best friend. My biggest cheerleader. She’s had a front-row seat to my transformation. She’s seen the hard seasons, the healing, the stretching, the surrender. And she’s watched God rebuild something better than I could’ve ever imagined.
But maybe the most beautiful part? I’ve had the honor of witnessing her transformation too. I’ve seen her step fully into her worth, her wisdom, and her calling. I’ve watched her claim the truth that she is significant, that her legacy matters, and that her story is far from over.
Our little “11:11” has become more than a coincidence—it’s become a rhythm. A sacred thread that connects us through seasons, distance, joy, and growth. It’s a whisper from Heaven that transformation is happening, that prayers are being answered in real time, and that we’re both being made new—not just in each other’s eyes, but in His.
I’ll carry that with me forever. Because tucked inside every 11:11 is a reminder of where we’ve been, what we’ve become, and the love that’s held us through it all—hers for me, mine for her, and His over both of us.
My Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the quiet signs and sacred rhythms that remind us You’re near. Thank You for my mom—for her strength, her love, and her unwavering belief in me. Thank You for allowing us both to witness each other’s transformation and walk in grace together. Let our lives reflect the new thing You are doing. Help us to never miss the beauty in the ordinary, and always know that even the numbers on a clock can be holy when You are at the center. Amen
